No matter the adventure or fun in Gatlinburg that you seek… let the professionals at Rafting in the Smokies be your source for adventure in the Great Smoky Mountains. So while you're making your list of Smoky Mountain things to do, you can also add a white water rafting adventure to your list.
Rafting in the Smokies offers three different white water adventures that will surely suit everyone in the family's sense of adventure. Regardless of your trip of choice, no experience is necessary:
1: The Upper Pigeon River Tour offers the most action-packed five miles of white water rafting in east Tennessee. Featuring Class III and IV rapids, your certified guide will navigate your raft the entire trip down the river. The Pigeon River's scenery is just as dramatic as the rapids. On this section of river, you will pass the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Cherokee National Forest, and the famed Appalachian Trail. We'll supply you with the best equipment and the best instruction for the ride of your life! Upper Pigeon River rafters must weigh at least 70 lbs or be 8 years old.
2: The Lower Pigeon River Float Trip Tour is a much calmer guided trip perfect for smaller children and older adults. This trip runs about fifty class I and II rapids with one class III at the end. Bordering the Cherokee National Forest, this 6 ½ mile stretch of the Pigeon River gorge is not to be missed!
3: Duckies – Lower Pigeon River Tour offers single or double-person inflatable kayaks for those who would like to paddle something a bit more challenging. Guides will teach you different ways to to approach and play in the rapids.
Any of the above tours can be packaged together with the zipline and ropes/challenge courses. Or perhaps your Smoky Mountain adventure should include a little equine time… Rafting in the Smokies can assist you with our "Paddle & Saddle" package. You can raft and also enjoy a one-hour horseback ride with our exclusive partner Smoky Mountain Riding Stables, the only authorized concessioner of the National Park Service.
